John P. Schneider, Jr. received a BBA degree from Texas A&M University and is president of Schneider & Associates, Inc. He is a licensed Texas Real Estate Broker specializing in commercial, farm and ranch real estate in Central and South Texas. He is an active alumnus of A&M, served on the Texas A&M College of Agriculture Development Council. He also served as the Texas A&M representative on the Kellogg Foundation Vision 2020 National Committee. He has been honored as a Texas A&M Professor for a Day.
Schneider was appointed to the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority in 1999 by Governor George W. Bush. He served on the Board for nine years, three of those as Board Chair. He is one of the original Trustees of the Guadalupe-Blanco River Trust. John has a long history of water and land stewardship. He used this knowledge to benefit the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) as its Manager of Natural Resources. At the same time, John helped establish and create the Colorado River Land Trust (CRLT) and served as Executive Director of the CRLT, in addition to his LCRA responsibilities.
John is a sixth generation Texan and native of Austin where he grew up and attended high school. He resides on the family ranch outside of Lockhart with his wife and where he raised his five children.
